Ran at like 11 Bc of New Years. Mikey was nice and came with me. Pretty quick run and leg defs sucked with like 15 min left because we hit like 3 traffic lights and had to stop. Take a few seconds to get going and it hurts like a sunuva. Managed to get the full minutes in but it hurts pretty bad. Did some yoga and iced when I got home.

Death ruuuunnnnnnnnnnnn. Freaking epic. I executed my strategy exactly as planned and ran 2 miles really fast. Was shooting for 10:50ish but ended up running like 11:30 or soemthing. Held my ground about 125 meters ahead of the chase pack and 200 in front of the chase pack chase pack. Chase pack chase pack ended up catching the chase pack and became the chase pack. I was dying towards the end and they were definitely gaining on me. Alex made it about 100 meters behind me and wasn’t really gaining any ground because I just went ham. I had those thoughts like “oh I’m so dead they’re definitely gonna catch me” but I shut them tf down and I think it was actually very good practice for times like that in races. Overall like a 5:40 tempo for 5 miles so hats was super fun. Leg didn’t hurt too bad after and but I iced it for a while.
Turns out it was my hip flexor not my IT band. I asked the wrong person I guess.. but luckily I’ve been doing the wrong stretches for an it band and I’ve actually been stretching my hip flexor so thats good. Ready for the 6 min test tomorrow

6 minute test was cool. Started first 200 a little slow but picked it back up for a 1:12 lap. The rest were about the same and picked it up lap 3 but still barely ran a 1:13 so now I see why we are supposed to speed up at the start of it. Was super dead after 4 Laps amc was zoned out first 100 m of lap 5 but kicked way strong from 100-300 and then was dying but still finished strong. Ran 2019 meters beating the record (which I hold) by 3 meters so yeet. Headed into the last lap I actually didn’t think I was gonna beat it but barely got it so yeah that was cool. Solid 2 days of running.

Good long run up Turkey Farm Hill. Quick on the way back. My hip didn’t hurt until like the last 10 minutes either so that’s good. Wasn’t a difficult run at all so I was very blessed. Wanted a PB and banana sandwich with some chocolate milk when I got home, but we were out of bread AND milk. So I just put peanut butter on a banana and it was actually pretty good.

Dino Cliffs trail run today. The rain made the trail nice and puddley. More tight today than during yesterday’s run. Ice and stretched real good when I got home.
Started Bear Gryll’s book “A survival guide for life” today. And I’m listening to it on Audible because one of my favorite youtubers talked about how dope it is and he’s super smart and it’s free for a month, so I figured I’d try it out. It’s pretty good so far

Ran up Washington Pkwy for the first 8 min of tempo so we were a little slow and everyone broke off from me Alex and Jose. Kept it at 6:20 the whole time. Shoutout to Jose for being a beast. Not very hard for me so that’s good.

| | Ran pioneer parkway with Colton. It was like 10 when we went so it was nice and bright outside. I’ve never really seen that trail in the light because we always do it at 6 in the morning. I was looking at the part I fell at forever ago and holy cow it’s so terrible looking. Like I’m surprised I didn’t die because there are so many big rocks everywhere. #blessed

| | Solid workout with Alex and logan. Paces were a little quick toward the end but only by like a second or two. I liked doing 5 reps of 1 min CV pace rather than 10 reps of 30 sec. just that little longer push made it feel more like a workout.

I was DEAAAADDD today and the run was really long and sucky and I climbed up the side of foremaster instead of running up it and that was funny. Saw a cool accident by artic circle and that was cool too. Iced my shins af when I got home Bc they hurt reaaaaaly bad.

Yeah today’s run sucked last night I told myself I was gonna run 60 min but then when we started I was like ow maybe I’ll go 45 but then a mile in I was dying and was practically dragging my leg so I only did 30. Super sad because it actually hurts really bad and I can’t walk much. I iced and stretched and rolled so hopefully it’ll feel better so I can play in my basketball game but I prolly won’t be able to:((
UPDATE: I felt waaaayyyy better later in the day so I actually played the whole basketball game and I felt good the rest of the day. There is defs still pain but it’s not nearly as bad as it was this morning

| | Oucccchhhhhh. Decided I would man up because my knee didn’t hurt all day but then I went out 35 and felt fine but the whole way back sucked Major and now I’m gonna die. I’m going to take tomorrow off and rest a ton because it just hurts to even run. I might even take Wednesday off. I wanna see we’ll see how I feel but I think it’ll just be best to avoid all possible chances of a serious injury.
