Anything Will Burn If the Furnace is Hot Enough Running Blog at FastRunningBlog.Com http://Horsbra.fastrunningblog.com/ Wed, 22 Nov 2017 20:47:47 FeedCreator 1.7.2 Sat, Nov 18, 2017 http://Horsbra.fastrunningblog.com/blog-11-18-2017.html
15 warm then race then 15 cool

Nike Southwest Regionals was a fun time. I settled a little too early in the race, but still ran pretty fast I think. Connected with Alex at about 800 meters in. First mile was sub 5 (because I leaned over the line hehehe) and I feel like we were in like 80th place or so, and the rest of the race we just passed people. Started to gap Alex and came past 2 miles at about 10:10 and that was also pretty good I thought. Ended with like a 16:00 something. I surged just as I had planned in the zone where I pooped out the last two years and then just continued it hard into the finish because I realized that it was my last race:( passed like 10-20 people in the finishing chute which sucks to me because I could’ve passed like 30 if I would’ve put that energy into my second mile. Overall it was a pretty good last race. I achieved my goal of running hard through the pain and not being a wuss (but I think that happened because I wasn’t going incredibly fast), but I definitely missed my target of being top 30. Oh well.

Sad to say my time with PVXC is over, but it was an absolutely amazing time. Thanks to my bros for being Bros and believing in me, and thanks to my coaches for being the best. Thanks to my mom as well for being way better than anyone else’s moms.

Footlocker here we come, and onto freaking track season. #Rekt.
Sat, 18 Nov 2017 07:00:00 Tue, Nov 14, 2017 http://Horsbra.fastrunningblog.com/blog-11-14-2017.html
AM 2.14 mi

15 min

7:00 avg

PM 8.04 mi

55 min 1-2-1-2-3-4 with recovery equal for blocks of 5 at 5k

6:39 avg

Great workout today. Just ran up to a mustang pass carrying shovels and worked on it for Alex’s project for like 2 hours and then ran back. Trail looks super good though so I think it’s fine.
Sat, 11 Nov 2017 07:00:00 Fri, Nov 10, 2017 http://Horsbra.fastrunningblog.com/blog-11-10-2017.html
AM 3.56 mi

25 min + plyos + yoga

7:04 avg

PM 9.08 mi

60 min w strong finish and striders

6:37 avg

Up the giant turkey farm hill and back. Not sure why though. My lungs and gut just hurt real bad. I tried treating it like a race and forcing myself to fight through it, but after the 3rd and 4th reps I thought I wa going to die. Led the last one for the most part until the end but I stuck in there and only fell off by like a second or two. Was a good workout that reminded me that I need to fight if I want to be great.
Wed, 08 Nov 2017 07:00:00 Tue, Nov 07, 2017 http://Horsbra.fastrunningblog.com/blog-11-07-2017.html
AM 2.08 mi

15 minutes with weights

7:13 avg

Getting back into weights. Ran well the first 2 miles and was in posisition. Does our and tried to stay connected to Alex and Julien. Julien ran really well and took off, Alex and I died out. Finished 14th. Would’ve won if I took 7th, which is worse than I was planning anyways. Win some you lose some. We did really well and tried pretty hard. Regardless of how we ended up, we all pushed pretty hard. PVXC Forever.

Now on to Nike.
Wed, 18 Oct 2017 06:00:00
